Air Monitoring Data
To ensure data quality, all active criteria pollutant monitors on the Navajo Nation follow a U.S. EPA approved Quality Assurance Project Plan. Navajo Nation air monitoring is conducted in accordance with U.S. EPA quality assurance guidance found in 40 CFR Part 58, Appendix A. Quality assured data for the four (4) criteria pollutants (NO2, SO2, O3, PM2.5) measured on the Navajo Nation is uploaded on a monthly basis to U.S. EPA’s Air Quality System database (AQS). The reported data allows the Navajo Nation to determine compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) to protect human health and the environment.
