EPA has taken a number of actions to provide support to tribes and tribal utilities in light of the COVID-19 national health emergency. EPA developed resources and information to support the water sector, including publishing a Pandemic Incident Action Checklist: a concise list of practical actions that water and wastewater utilities can undertake to manage their response.   • Covid 19 Implications for EPA’s Enforcement and Compliance Assurance Program- On March 26, 2020, the EPA issued a Temporary COVID-19 Enforcement Policy to allow the Agency to prioritize its resources to respond to acute risks and imminent threats, rather than making up front case-by-case determinations regarding routine monitoring and reporting.  On June 29, 2020, EPA issued a termination addendum to the COVID-19 temporary enforcement policy. EPA selected August 31, 2020, as the termination date for the temporary enforcement policy.

 

 

  • The Interim EPA COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines for Field Activities - On July 6, 2020, EPA issued an integrated set of safety and health guidance that provide timely and consistent information. for employees conducting field activities. Appendix A is focused on “Civil Inspections, On-site Compliance Monitoring, Compliance and Technical Assistance.”  Appendix B is focused on “Conducting Superfund Site, RCRA Corrective Actions, Oil, and Emergency Response Work.”
